State Information

is ranked in terms of the number of certified H-1B guest workers who have taken jobs from a US citizen (Analysis of United States Department of Labor Guest Worker Visa Data, SAITJ, July 8th, 2021, p.17). This is simple math. If an organization has 10 open positions and 5 positions are staffed with guest workers then only 5 positions remain open to a US citizen. That is a 50% reduction in the number of job opportunities. SAITJ is not implying that any given organization has had a 50% reduction in the number of job opportunities due to employment of guest workers directly or via use of a vender. The numbers vary by organization and by state. However, if you understand basic math...you get the idea.

If you maintain residence in write a letter to your member(s) of the US Congress and demand they fix the laws governing guest worker policies. Contact information for all members of congress can be found on the GovTrack website here.

If you do not write a letter to your member(s) of the US Congress and demand they fix the laws governing guest worker policies nothing will change.
